On-Demand Webinars
The Writing Center strives to offer multiple webinar opportunities to both students and faculty. In addition to our regular series and extensive archives, we can provide webinars for groups of students and/or faculty members upon instructor request. These on-demand sessions offer participants a chance to ask questions and receive information specifically geared toward the writing demands of their program or course.
To request a session for your classes or mentees, please fill out this form and send it to Amber Cook. You can choose from the standard sessions listed on our website, or we can tailor a session to the specific needs exhibited by your students. Some guidelines:
- For planning purposes, we request 3 weeks' notice to arrange the session.
- Instructors may request 1 webinar per month.
- We request an instructor presence at the session. We encourage you to connect with other instructors, especially those teaching other sections of the same course, who may be interested in inviting their students to the session. If we receive similar requests, or requests that align with a session we already have scheduled, we may combine sessions.
- If appropriate, we might also open your session up to other Walden students who could benefit from the presentation.
Writing Center staff members can also present to informal groups of faculty or at regularly scheduled faculty meetings. Instructors can select a standard session from the list here or request a session tailored to the specific needs of the faculty. No form is needed to request a faculty webinar; simply contact Faculty Liaison Amber Cook.
