ESL Students
Welcome! Here at the Walden University Writing Center, we know that writing can be difficult for many students. For multilingual students, it can be an even bigger challenge. With this in mind, we compiled Walden resources and services available to assist you in the writing process.
If you're not sure what kind of writing assistance you need, it may be helpful to get an opinion on where to start. The Writing Center offers Quick Tips reviews that provide students with a short diagnosis of writing issues based on the paper they submit. During this review, a writing specialist will look at part of your paper and then send an e-mail response with our advice and links to resources based on what we see in your draft. It can be helpful to let us know if you are an English Language Learner when we complete this assessment, because we may be able to recommend more appropriate resources.
For the most intensive English language support, Walden offers a specific graduate writing course for non-native English speakers. You can read more about this course here. If you have questions about how to register for the course, please contact your academic advisor.
We also have a variety of handouts and resources to assist you with the writing process, grammar, and revision. Additionally, we have information about American academic writing culture.
You can read more about our review services with the Walden Writing Specialists and Walden Dissertation Editors.
